Pain, pain, pain...

I intended to write new post and finalize and publish the ones that I had already save in draft since a week ago. But a lot of things happened in such short period of time till I failed to do that. And now I guess those drafts will just remain as drafts, since I hate writing about things that had passed. Haha.

So, yeah, I had tonsillitis which caused me to experience pain for a few days. I'll feel pain when I swallow food, water and even my own saliva. *sigh* And I also have difficulty in speech. Here's the picture of how tonsillitis look like.

Padas White Water Rafting!

...just a picture of how it will look like, but not us...

Rafting! (click here for more info).

Yes! It was the day! It was really an unforgettable experience for me. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity since two years ago. My friend planned to do this and asked me to join her, but it never became a reality. Until, yesterday (1 November 2009). =)

Actually the activity supposed to be on the 31st of October. And I was supposed to attend a friend's wedding reception (view previous post) on that very same day. So I was quite dizzy thinking of ways how I can attend both event. However, Him who seated high above, is really great and worked wonders upon us. The activity then postponed to the 1st of November and I am very grateful for that. Thank you!

So I joined 8 other Lifeliners to Padas; and as early as 8am we were supposed to depart already from Wisma Sabah. (But I was late! =.="') So we were on tourists' bus that morning and were briefed about the program/tour schedule. Afterward each of us were given one box of breakfast. Quite yummy - a bread + egg and a small banana and a drumstick. During the journey/tour, I was sleepy. And I couldnt even watch the movie in the bus because I sat at the last row and plus I forgot to bring my glasses. I'm short-sighted. Huhu. So what to do, just sleep la. Hahaha.

...in the tour bus...

To make this long story short, I just write out in point form whatever things that happened next.

- Passed by Crocker Range (wanna go there someday! x) hihi)
- Reached Tenom railway station
- changed clothes and applied sunblock
- waited at the Railway station, left all our stuff in the tour bus
- train came. A lot of people rushed in. No seats. Arghh. But then a lady gave away two seats. So I got the chance to sit. Whew~
- kinda sakai at first. this train is kinda different from KTM in west Malaysia. (haha. of course)
- got a few seats outside as well. Those are open seats. Didnt sit there bcuz it was sunny at first. But then it became windy. Regretted did not sit there. Can get better view.
- didnt sleep in the train because I was so excited and anxious throughout the journey
- sat facing the back of the train. looked out the window, saw a hill to my left and Padas river to my right. can see the landslide to my left.
- went through a small and short tunnel. Syok!! it was dark and eerie but BEST! *twice*
- Reached Padas 'Riverbug' White Water Rafting. (Wonder why it is called "White Water Rafting", when the colour of the river is not white at all. Just look at the picture above lah. LOL! xD)
- was briefed in detail by a river guide. Safety precautions, ways to save yourself, and many more were told. (I wasnt sure whether I can remember all those! =.="')
- After that very detailed explanation, we were split to 3 groups. Each group consists of 6 people and two river guides, except for a group from Hong Kong, which consists of 7 people and two river guides.
- we were advised not to take picture because of the condition of the river. It was high tide. And nobody from Riverbug takes picture too. Haiz... too bad... *shake head*
- paddling. warm-up session. very brief. Didnt even feel tired. Just that it was quite hard to paddle with the strong current
- was not even sunny. Oh sun! Come out, come out wherever you are... I applied a lot of sunblock loh just now. Dont wanna waste that. xD
- the two river guides behind us were explaining and giving us instruction. it was fun. one of the river guides looks quite matured (like late 20s), but he's just about my age. (Whuuuttt??? @.@)
- initially there were no rapid. we were just paddling in the strong current but quite calm river.
- then we reached the 1st rapid. it is called a 'Mickey Mouse'. This was where the FUN began! Yeh, water splashing everywhere; we were soaked wet and extremely excited; the rubber raft was almost overturned/capsized!
- after that we paddled through 'snake', 'headhunters', 'lambada', and many more rapids. Couldnt remember all the names. A lot bah.
- After 10km of paddling through a few different rapids, we stopped and went on shore to have our lunch.
- lunch was quite 'feng fu'. They prepared lamb, hotdogs, pumpkins, popiahs, cabbages etc. I ate with a great appetite because I starved! Not cuz I godot k? LOL.
- After lunch, we continue another 7km of paddling. but this time, no more rapids. Just paddling through calm river. Followed the current.
- finished the whole activity. Reached another place (somewhere near Beaufort I heard) and we got on a narrow sampan with a motor/engine. it looked like a sampan, but did not require paddling. kind of like speedboat/motorboat. But this one was narrow and long.
- was wondering 'huh, this is it? i thought got something even more dangerous than this.' in my head I thought we were going to paddle down a waterfall. Haha. That's ADVENTUROUS! or maybe it is more like a SUICIDE?? for those who is heart-broken? like what the riverguide told us. LOL.
- Reached another place in Sabah. The name of the place is weird, so I couldnt remember. It was another railway station.
- So we washed ourselves a bit and waited for the train.
- Train came and took us back to Beaufort railway and bus station. On my way, I fell asleep. Muscle didnt ache but felt very exhausted.
- Reached Beaufort. The tour bus was already waiting there. The place is familiar to me cuz it was my 2nd time there. Kind of miss to walk around Beaufort with Karen Yiow. Hmmm...
- After everyone was ready, the bus took us back to Kota Kinabalu (KK).
- Fell asleep in the bus. Reached Wisma Sabah before 7pm.
- In conclusion, I want to do this again! LOL!

Sarah & Bonaventure's Wedding Reception

A day that I've been waiting for.

Quite nervous and excited at the same time. As if it is MY wedding reception~! LOL. Well, I have my own reason why I felt nervous and excited at the same time. Excited because it was a wedding reception! I ought to be happy and excited for the bride and groom! LOL! However I was nervous at the same time because I was going to meet my schoolmates again after some time; and that's not all. I was going to meet them with my better half, who is also an ex-classmate of the bride. And since our "secret love affair" was still quite unknown to the public, so of course I was kinda nervous to know their reaction when they see my better half walk in to the wedding reception with me.

Plus I was nervous because I thought I didnt have any proper dress or outfit to go to the wedding reception (since we were told that the theme was PURPLE. But aint no purple is seen as the theme. Duh~). But luckily I found one purple top just a few minutes before I leave the house. Whew~ Thank God~! so I just grabbed anything that I thought will be a match with that top without even trying. LOL. After i reached Darl's house, then I tried on the purple shorts with the top and next the purple top with jeans.

...with a purple shorts...
(low quality picture as I dont have a proper camera bah!)

...with a pair of jeans...
(low quality picture as I dont have a proper camera bah!)

Finally I decided to wear the top with the jeans. Since my better half told me something that I couldnt argue with, so that's the decision lah. Kekeke. I'm very "guai" punya. LOL! xD

Yeah. That's the beautiful bride and the handsome groom. :) Cheers to the both of you! Wish 'em happily ever after! :) *wink2*

...Classmates of 5 Dinamik 2006; all 6 of them...
(except for the groom)

Gurlz of KKHS with the newlyweds. Yeh we RAWKK! ,\m/

Yeh that's what we call as purple theme! NOT! Mmmm x)
(which I think supposed to be Red and White)

KKHS schoolmates with the lovely bride. ^^v

1 Table.

Take 2.

3 classmates and 1 schoolmate. :D

My better half & I. =)

On our way home. Yeh.

well, it turned out to be a great night (well makan free, of course it was great. LOL!) And I'm glad I can be myself and throw away that feeling of nervousness and do what I've always do. So once again, CONGRATS to the bride, SARAH, & the groom, BONAVENTURE! Lotsa Luv from me. Mwah Mwah.

Exam & Sick!!!

Friday. And it's the day of Communication Skill I test..
I had not even prepared myself!
Ouch, I think it's doom day for me...! Not even a witch or Doraemon can help me. Huhu.

Woke up late. Rushed to take the bus. Waited for half an hour for the bus to move.
Kept glancing at the time. Hmm.. I'm very sure that I will be late. But I dont want to take a cab to college anymore. No. No. (They are Blood-Sucking Land Leeches a.k.a.
Lintah Darat!)
At about 9am, I reached ATIC. (Wow! Applause for me!! Yeay! Another day of 30mins lateness! =.="')
Haiz.. I peeked in Layang-Layang classroom. Class was very silent. Everybody's head was down looking and reading the exam paper. Exam has started!! Mati la saya! Felt so ashamed of myself. Hmm...

Everybody looked at me when I stepped in to the classroom.
But thank God Mr Wong is a nice guy. He didnt question my lateness; instead he straight away gave me the exam papers and told me what to do. (Though he is not very good in English, but he is a good teacher. A very nice guy indeed.)
But one thing surprised me very much. And I felt funny too at the same time.
Why did he give us answers? Isnt this supposed to be an examination, to test our knowledge?
Anyway I proceeded to my seat and started answering those questions.

I looked at the exam papers, I couldnt really answer them!! Though the subject is named as Communication Skill I, but it is actually English. Haiz.. What band 5 in MUET? That certificate of mine can be flushed down the toilet already. Huhu.

Then during the exam, came this very annoying sneeze.
Hachiu!
Silence.
Hachiu..
Silence.
Everybody was busy answering questions. Some discussed the answers among themselves. (
Terer oh kan can do something like that? LOL)
Hachiu!!
(Omigosh! That started to annoy me!!)
Haaaaaaaaaachiiiiiiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok. Mucus everywhere. Eww. Yucks. Luckily I got tissues with me. Whew~!
I swear I dont want to fall sick anymore after this. Especially do not want to get infected by influenza / flu during examination period.
Cuz i cant taste, cant smell, cant stand straight for a long time, cant get a normal body temperature, and cant even stop sneezing! Huh~!

UBS Accounting Day 2,3 & 4

Yeh.. Finally finished the whole programme already! though I felt like I want to give up taking this programme before this, but since it is free and the instructor told us not to give up so easily, so I decided to stay and finish the whole programme. =)

So here are pictures from the 2nd day of UBS Computer Accounting Level 1 and 1st & 2nd day of UBS Computer Accounting Level 2.

Day 2 of UBS Accounting Level 1

Day 1 of UBS Accounting Level 2

We had our dinner at RCH (Rafflesia Chicken Hut) Karamunsing.

Take 2. Food already arrived on our table. =)

This time I ordered 'Butter Chicken'. Mmm... Yummy!!

Yeh, this is Day 1 of UBS Accounting Level 2. See any missing faces?

Day 2 of UBS Accounting Level 2

Day 2 of UBS Accounting Level 2. (Yeay!!! It's over!!)

During the programme, of course there are challenges like the instructor talked too fast and I couldnt really catch whatever that he said. That's is why I realized that I got to be very attentive and also very alert to the white canvas screen. Other challenges are that people will be calling and asking me to help them quite frequently until I missed what the instructor just showed. Of course I got pissed one or two times because I missed what the instructor just taught. Despite that, I love to help them and I feel happy because I can share things that I just learnt. So in conclusion, I had a great experience and looking forward for another programme in the future (but definitely NOT about Accounting anymore! LoL xD).

Fruits!!

OMG! OMG! I'm so addicted with DURIANS!! and SOURSOPS!!!! omigosh!!! just now had this chempedak and da fruit was so sweet!!! I think I could even be diabetic after this. LOL!!!! And a few days before that, I ate tarap which is a fruit native to Borneo. (Want to know more bout this fruit? click this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marang) And also durian. Ngehehehe. Well, I ate durian more than tarap cuz durian is like my favourite of all other fruit in that family.
Maybe it's the season of those fruits, so there are abundant of those types of fruits. Yeehaw~ even got mangosteen, rambutans etc. A variety of 'em.

Night Class at AMC Karamunsing

Fuh~ So sleepy right now. Just now had a class at night in AMC (Advanced Management College). It was the UBS Accounting class. I expected something interesting, but turned out to be boring. It was not because of the speaker/teacher, it was more of the speed of following the teaching by those students. Well, couldnt blame them too cause if they are already an expert, there is no need for them to go to the class. =) And plus, accounting is definitely not something I like. I hate account subject. I always do. But how would I know that this is an accounting software class. It was recommended by my friend and I just follow only. Well, never mind. It is free of charge anyway. Sponsored by a certain MSC/ICT body. (I dont know what cause I didnt pay attention. Busy Facebook-ing! LOL!) Who knows maybe one day it might come in handy? =)

So here are some pictures during the class and dinner. They even sponsored dinner for us! How great that is!!We started the class at about 6pm, and then at 7pm we went to RCH restaurant to have our dinner. Afterward we continued the class till 9.45pm. Just before we left AMC, we took group photo.

this is the PC (right one) that I used during the class.

This is the one. I took its singly pic.

RCH restaurant.

This is what RCH restaurant looks like. Quite nice, but they only got "B" (Can you spot that in this photo?) from DBKK or Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu. Well you know what that means, right?

This is the Lemon Chicken that I ordered. Yum Yum!! Very delicious. But the taste of the "lemon chicken" more of like pineapple jam rather than lemon. But anyway it is very yummy!! And it's F.O.C.!!! LOL! xD

Me and Suzian took picture outside the restaurant. Just cause I took a photo of the restaurant, doesnt mean I'm a big fan of that restaurant. Just sort of promoting. Haha. So NOT PROMOTING~ LOLz.

Group photo. A total of 18 people. =) Nicee...

urgghhh!!! BLOOD!!

I went to the loo this morning cuz of stomachache. Didnt expect anything that will scare or surprise me. But I was shocked and alarmed to see blood in the feces. And it was a lot. At first I thought it might be menstruation blood, as the symptoms of menstruation are showing already like got angry easily and pain on certain part of the body. But it was not. So it must be internal bleeding. Haiz. Duno what happened. Probably lack of fiber and water. And probably just feeling quite stressed out recently. With problems and arguments and exams coming my way, really feel quite tired and stressful. But most of my friends also shared with me that they're facing a quite stressful and problematic life. Hmm that's just life.

unscrupulous taxi drivers!

First of all I'm not a citizen who wants to say something bad about the city where I grew up, UNLESS IT IS AN UGLY TRUTH/FACT. And this is FACT.

Today I was late again to college. I didnt have class, but my group members decided to have practise today before the actual role play on Friday. When I reached KK, there were no City Bus available that time, so I took a taxi to college. Approx 5 minutes later, I reached ATIC. When I asked for the fare, I was half mad at the taxi driver, but didnt really care too at the same time as I was rushing to college.

However after that I just couldnt help thinking that taxi drivers in KK (Kota Kinabalu) are getting more than what they should. From what I've experienced, I wonder whether they are allowed to ask for such fares or not. I also couldnt help comparing the taxi fares here and also in Kota Damansara. Well, I used to travel by myself from my sister's place in Jalan Cecawi Kota Damansara to The Curve. It is not that far, but I was still very surprised with the taxi fare. It cost me less than RM5 from Jalan Cecawi to The Curve.

Here in KK, RM5 is like from Kepayan Ridge to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). If you compare both, the distance between Kepayan Ridge and QEH is much shorter than the distance between Jalan Cecawi and The Curve. However the fare from Jalan Cecawi to The Curve is much cheaper! How can this be!

That's not all. There was one time when me and my bf were looking for taxi to go to church (his car was not available that time), and this unscrupulous taxi driver asked RM 20 from us when the fact is, the distance is short. Though I didnt fork out a penny, but I think the taxi driver should not charge us that much. I almost wanna stop him from paying. But we couldnt do that. I used to go to 1 Borneo from KK and I was charged the same, though distance between 1 Borneo and KK is much longer. See wth is going on?

Those are just two examples from me. There are a few other examples but I dont wanna mention. Perhaps different part of peninsula cost differently and I dont know that yet. Or maybe the fare is cheaper there as most people will prefer taxi rather than bus, while less people prefer taxi here in KK. But one thing for sure, I feel that it cost me less when I become a tourist in peninsula. LOL. I really wish taxis in KK will also charge passenger(s) according to the taxi's meter. On second thought, rather than wish for cheaper fares, I wish my dad will allow me to DRIVE! Daddy, daddy, pls say it's green light for me to drive!! I promise to be a courteous and careful driver~ Plizz... Lolz..
